Steely Eyed Man is a portrait of a character who looks like he's seen just about everything and isn't particularly impressed by any of it.
With his angular features, piercing green eyes, and expression that falls somewhere between skepticism and indifference, this fellow has a personality all his own. The cool steel-blue tones contrast with the warm orange background, while bold black outlines and geometric shapes give the portrait its distinctive Cubist-inspired appearance.
I've always enjoyed exaggerating facial features and experimenting with the way simple lines and shapes can suggest personality. Here, the elongated nose, squared jaw, and almost architectural structure of the face create a character who feels both familiar and slightly otherworldly. Even the little peace-sign earring adds an unexpected touch of humor.
Steely Eyed Man is one of those faces that makes you wonder about the person behind it. Is he a philosopher, a cynic, or just a guy who's had a very long day? I'll leave that up to you.
