Christmas Tree Night

from $50.00

Christmas Tree Night is my playful take on a familiar holiday scene, with a little inspiration from Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night thrown into the mix.

I've always admired the movement and energy in Van Gogh's work, particularly the way he transforms an ordinary night sky into something almost alive. I thought it would be fun to bring some of that swirling energy into a Christmas setting, replacing the traditional landscape with a brightly decorated tree surrounded by rolling waves of snow.

The deep blue sky is filled with spiraling stars, while the Christmas tree adds a burst of green, red, yellow, and blue to the otherwise cool winter palette. The exaggerated lines and whimsical shapes give the scene a sense of movement, as though the entire landscape is celebrating the season.

Christmas Tree Night combines a little art history with a little holiday cheer. It's my interpretation of what might happen if a Christmas tree found its way into one of the most recognizable night skies in art history.

And really, who says a Christmas tree can't have its own starry night?
