Zebra is a study in contrast, character, and the striking patterns nature creates without any help from an artist.

Using a limited palette of black, white, and warm earthy tones, I wanted to capture the zebra's distinctive markings while giving the animal a personality of its own. Loose, expressive brushwork and softly blended edges create a balance between realism and illustration, allowing the bold stripes to take center stage.

There's something fascinating about an animal that looks like it was designed by a graphic artist. With Zebra, I wanted to celebrate that natural design while keeping the composition simple, expressive, and just a little unconventional.
