When you're working with a tight budget you have to utilize all the talent available in unique ways. The Family Reunion spot was one that brought the entire creative team together as cast and crew. The production designer was Evane Williams (no relation) who was also one of my graphic designers. Evane did a tremendous job gathering props and people to create a table and set that gave a nice mix of style and warmth. The spot was directed by Blake Edwards and photo directed by Chris Calnin. The music is from the amazing Michael Kiwanuka.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Produce :60 second spots consisting of beauty shots depicting a multi-generational family of approximately 20-30 people coming together to enjoy a meal. It was shot at a country home on large grassy back lawn in late afternoon and dusk. The final cut was set to the amazing music of Michael Kiwanuka. The shots were used in an image spot.
RUNNING SHOT SEQUENCE
The ad opens with five children running through a grassy field towards a farm house. We see family members arriving and begin setting the table and putting up market lights in the yard. Two young people sit and talk to an elderly man in a bow tie. Two gentlemen sit and share a laugh as children play tag in the grass off in the distance. A group of ladies pass a baby around as the sun begins to dip to a golden hue. The dinner bell rings and the large family starts to gather around a long thirty foot table set with humble dishware, flowers and candles. The food is passed around the table as the sun sets in the sky, the market lights and candles provide light for the evening meal. The camera raises high about the trees and the INSP logo appears with the tagline “Welcome Home”.
