Raven explores observation, perception, and the strange ways we see and are seen. A collection of fragmented faces fills the composition, their overlapping features and mismatched eyes creating a crowd of individual personalities that seem to emerge from one another.
Above them, a black raven quietly surveys the scene while holding a disembodied eye, adding an unexpected touch of surrealism and dark humor. Repeating lines, spirals, and geometric patterns move across both the figures and background, blurring the boundaries between portrait and abstraction. A restrained palette allows the occasional bursts of red, orange, yellow, and blue to become small moments of visual surprise.
Influenced by Cubism and surrealistic imagery, Raven Eplays with the idea that seeing is not always the same as understanding. Everyone is looking—but what each of them sees is left to the viewer.
