Gone Fishing is a playful exploration of personality, relationships, and the unexpected stories that emerge when familiar forms are pushed beyond reality. Inspired by Cubism, the composition brings together three overlapping figures built from exaggerated features, fractured shapes, and bold, expressive color.
A fish dangling almost casually from the raised hand introduces an element of humor and surrealism, while the intertwined faces create a sense of connection and shared experience. Greens, blues, oranges, and reds move throughout the composition, unified by strong black lines and graphic patterns.
Originally created as a hand-drawn digital illustration and later reimagined as an acrylic painting, Gone Fishing reflects my interest in breaking the bounds of nature and allowing color, form, and imagination to tell their own story. Hand-drawn digital illustration.
