Electric Cat is a playful collision of Cubism, color, and character. The cat is constructed from sweeping shapes and fractured planes of deep blue, green, ochre, red, and turquoise, transforming a familiar subject into something vibrant and unexpected.
Holding a flower over one eye, the cat seems both mischievous and strangely sophisticated. The gesture adds a touch of humor and theatricality, while the single exposed eye gives the figure an unmistakable attitude. Bold black contours and flashes of white move throughout the composition, creating a visual rhythm that makes the color feel almost electric.
At its heart, Electric Cat is about abandoning the rules of natural color and allowing imagination to take over—a familiar creature reinterpreted through the freedom, geometry, and playful distortion of Cubism. Original: 16 × 20 acrylic on canvas.
