African Zebra is a bold interpretation of one of nature's most recognizable animals. With its unmistakable black-and-white stripes and quiet, watchful expression, the zebra takes center stage against an abstract background of earthy colors and energetic brushstrokes.

I've always been fascinated by the natural patterns found in wildlife, and few animals offer a more striking example than the zebra. Here, I wanted to move beyond a traditional wildlife portrait, combining recognizable features with loose, expressive painting techniques. Rich browns, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and deep blues create a rugged backdrop that contrasts with the animal's graphic markings.

There's something almost abstract about a zebra before an artist ever picks up a brush. African Zebra plays with that idea, bringing together the beauty of nature and the freedom of artistic interpretation.
