Geronimo

Geronimo is a portrait of one of the most recognized and formidable figures in Native American history. An Apache leader and warrior, Geronimo became a symbol of resistance and determination during a period of profound conflict and upheaval in the American Southwest.

I wanted to capture the intensity of his expression and the strength of his character without relying on elaborate surroundings or dramatic gestures. His direct gaze, weathered features, and long dark hair dominate the composition, while a simple desert landscape and warm sunset provide a sense of place. The restrained palette of earthy reds, golden yellows, and muted grays keeps the attention where it belongs, on the man himself.

Geronimo is an exploration of history, resilience, and the complexity of a man whose life has become part of the American story. More than a historical portrait, it's an attempt to convey the dignity and presence of an individual who refused to be easily defined.
